Millennium FAST

FAST is a dynamic, web-based reporting tool from vendor Millennium that provides pre-built, easy-to-read, and customizable reports for the higher education market.

FAST acts like a data mart, transforming Western’s Banner source data into actionable information and analysis.

Current FAST modules include Finance, HR, and Budget. Business & Financial Systems supports upgrades, system enhancements, and troubleshooting for FAST Finance and FAST HR. FAST Budget is supported by the Budget Office.

Benefits of FAST:

  • No skill barrier makes it easy to use. SQL or Banner familiarity are not required.
  • Drill-down capability acts as a great investigative tool. 
  • Data is secure, protected, and compliant. HR and Finance data cannot be edited, and access management restricts selected fields and reports.
  • Data is reproducible across time and users, enabling trust in decision-making.
  • Reports are flexible, allowing users to slice and dice in numerous ways.
  • Reports are customizable, allowing users to save (pin) a particular view of a report.
  • Point in time data is provided, filling a gap in HR reporting needs.
  • Visualizations for graphs and dashboards are available.
  • Scheduling automated report delivery is available.

First request permission from the appropriate e-sign form. 

Once permissions are granted, you may access FAST via the Administrative Tools section on the MyWestern homepage. Note that if you are off-campus, you must be connected to VPN.

Data is refreshed every weekday. The application will show the exact timestamp in the upper righthand corner of each module.
  • FAST Training Videos appear on the FAST home screen
  • Help Sections appear within each FAST module, offering searchable glossaries with written instructions and screenshots
  • Send a request to BFSys@wwu.edu to request an individual or group training for FAST system capabilities. To learn more about the source data itself, please reach out to the data owners.
